Why?
Well, the Boss told me a Western Civ class came up at the last moment. He gave it to a fellow adjunct and apologized for that.
My reaction?
I shrugged. “I’m better off at the pool this summer, sir.”
Western Civilization One, by the way, is like the Crown Jewel in my book. I’ve taught it only once. I love it. It is my area of expertise historically and yet I am not the least bit bothered by the situation.
A sure sign I need to spend the summer recharging the batteries.
In the meantime, I should probably shave.

Ah, not only did I shave, I also got a haircut as well.
And it turns out the class was actually Modern Western Civ, which is the most challenging to teach. I’m glad I do not have to spend the summer cobbling together a lecture pack of notes for that.
