Isn’t that Obama’s job? Yeah, well, he isn’t doing so hot if you ask me.

He’s been in office since January 2009 and what have we seen?

First, the unemployment rate remains crappy. I haven’t seen any of his plans to rectify this problem provide any relief on this front.

Second, he’s doing is best to kill off the Human Spaceflight Program for NASA. I guess we do not need Human Spaceflight. Just let the Chinese and the Russians have it. Better to spend the money on welfare, social services, etc. It was the same argument used to kill the Apollo Program in the 1970s. And while I’d be happy if the COTS program actually produced viable, reliable systems, it seems to me that privatizing this part of the economy is not smart.

Third, this deadline for getting out of Iraq this year and Afghanistan in 2011 strikes me as lame brained and dangerous. You never tell the enemy what you are planning on doing, especially if you are planning on tucking tail and running away (which is what our withdraw from Iraq will be, running away). With Afghanistan, I fail to understand why we surged any combat troops at all if we are hellbent on pulling out before the 2012 election.

Soldiers will die for no appreciable gain, which is precisely the reason I got out of the Army during the Clinton Era.

Fourth, he has managed to make a complete hash of our relationship with Great Britain. I mean, really? That took some doing given that the Brits were not happy with George W. Bush but Obama has managed to outdo his predecessor. He left the Brits hanging when the Argentinians got froggy over the Falklands. He has managed to snub Gordon Brown on multiple occasions and the British public feel that they are more distant from the United States than ever before.

Fifth, there is the health care disaster, which is going to make sure that no one has employer provided healthcare. It will be too expensive for anyone to purchase and so we’ll pay fines starting around 2015 when we can’t get health care.

Sixth, there is the standard substandard dicking around with education. Aside from some bloviation about community colleges, I have not seen much action on this front. At least the last President would take public education to the wood shed and thump the living daylights out of them (something that should be done daily). Instead, I get the impression that we are back to business as usual with the Teacher’s Unions in the driver’s seat ensuring that our students will be as ill prepared as they ever were.

I have students who can’t read at the college level. I have students who can’t write a proper paragraph. I have students who can’t even write a complete sentence. I know the reason for this is because incompetent teachers are protected by Teacher’s Unions and legal concerns against firing them. Thus they sit there in classrooms and continue to destroy minds, bore them to death and teach them nothing at all.

I’m not an English Teacher, I’m a History Instructor. I require essays from my students and if they come to me, I can, if I have enough to work with, teach them how to write a complete sentence, a proper paragraph and even a credible essay.

If I have enough to work with that is.

Seventh, the energy policy of this administration is a joke. Why don’t we have more nuclear power plants? Why don’t we have more rigs drilling for oil? Where are the windfarms and solar panels? Why doesn’t the government put some money where their mouths are and purchase a fleet of electric vehicles?

Then there is the Bailout of Banks too big to fail. Frankly, I think some of those fat cats need to be thrown in jail for life sentences. Instead they are living it up on their government sponsored bailouts.

I thought this guy was supposed to be a leader. That is why the country voted for him, right? How come no one takes him to task for his fuck ups? How come no one takes him to task for his gaffes with the British? Where are the Saturday Night Live skits showing how badly he has performed?

Don’t get me wrong. Unlike that bastard Clinton, I find Obama to be someone I could personally like. Thing is, I might personally like someone but that has no bearing on whether or not they are performing to standards.

This guy? He isn’t doing it. He acts a lot like Jimmy Carter. If he doesn’t get his head out of his ass, he is going to end up like Jimmy Carter.

So it goes.

Respects,
