For some reason I keep having this dream. It serves as the inspiration for my blog’s name.
There is a single tree in a field, preferably a wheat or corn field. The day is clear, sunny and warm, probably in late July or August. And yours truly is sitting under the tree, by himself, just pondering things. Sometimes I’m in a folding chair with a book, sometimes I’m just by myself.
Trinity and I found a couple of candidates for an actual model for the Pondering Tree a few weeks back. I finally got around to snapping a couple of shots. Here they are.
Tree Number One is above.
Tree Number Two is below.
So, which is it?
And oddly enough, it finally struck me that The Pondering Tree is an ideal story title. The story came to me earlier today. I’ll have to get some scribbling down for it tomorrow.
So it goes.
Respects,

I like the angle of the first one and the fact it has more of the sun. I can imagine someone reclined up against it, so it appears that the person has caused the tree to lean back, carrying the ponderer’s weight of ideas.

The first one for me as well, as Therbs said the sunlight and the greater shade under it.

I like the second tree-it looks a bit more stately and stout.

Strange. Aussies like choice one, Americans like choice two. Wonder what is up with that?

Murph we’ve got sun down here and high UV, and that’s in the south before you head north. Basic survival, shade means you don’t cook. Canterbury Rd was that hot one day on coming home the computer wouldn’t start went straight into O/T shutdown. Metal was painful to touch. So shade is a good choice.

I love the first one, I can see you propped up against it writing and sipping a tall glass of tea and creating another wonderful story for the world to read.
Yeah, number one has my vote.
Go in love & peace & faith,
