Training started out with the usual hiccups. Room locked, computers set to student login mode as opposed to instructor mode, etc. We have good trainers who are knowledgeable but I do feel like we are moving at a snail’s pace. Thus I find I am working ahead and looping back.
The system we are using is called Blackboard and if used properly, even if I never teach an online course, I can improve course efficiency. I’ve known this since the first semester of teaching but never had the patience or time to put into using this tool. During the first two years I had my hands full working on building a core of lecture notes.
And their might be ways to improve some of my courses.
That said, I gotta admit, I’d rather be working on Research Project Number – 04.
Respects,

One advantage is that all handouts, including the syllabus, can be placed online (greener). I like to make my gradebook available, although that sometimes leads to annoying questions from point-mongerers.
